The Chamber has many close relationships with overseas Chambers and other trade agencies, working closely with Business Link Wessex and UK Trade & Investment. 

We facilitate business-to-business contacts through overseas delegations, networking events, access to international Chamber's information and outward missions promoting our member's products and services overseas and developing trading opportunities. 

We can also provide expert advice on markets around the world, giving you the opportunity to acquire time sensitive and affordable information tailored to individual needs, including up-to-date country advice, import and export information together with advice on the movement of goods, methods of payment and documentation.

We are authorised by the DTI and nationally accredited to certify Certificates of Origin (EC and Arab), EUR1 and ATR forms, invoices and other documents as required in International Trade. We also provide services to help with the documentation requirement under Letters of Credit.

The Chamber is one of only thirteen approved UK organisations able to issue ATA Carnets, which are used to cover temporary export and import of goods moving around the world.

Technical advice on the mechanics of international trade, including tariffs, shipping methods, regulations and payment mechanisms. We can also assist with the development of export strategies for both the new and experienced exporter.

SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES

Our programme of seminars and conferences aim to increase awareness of overseas market opportunities, cultural awareness and international trade procedures. Often country focused, these events highlight current business and political trends and provide a valuable background and research tool for those considering trading in the featured country.

The Chamber plays a leading role in the provision of training associated with International Trade - subjects that cover the whole range of exporting issues from basic operations to the highest level management considerations. These training courses are accredited to the nationally recognised "JETs" standard.

We organise delegations of local business people to visit overseas markets. We also host visiting delegations and match them for meetings with local companies having similar business activities, interests and objectives.

Participants on trade missions benefit from a competitive travel package, excellent business contacts, support of other exporters and Government grants.

We promote Partenariat events, which provide a forum for SME's to meet and create links with their European counterparts in host regions selected by the European Commission. A locally sponsored incentives package is available for companies who attend with the Hampshire, IOW and Dorset Group.

The Chamber stocks a wide variety of International Trade publications, Export forms and Customs documents.

Local companies can access the EIC through a relay facility based at the Chamber. EIC's provide information on EU legislation, European standards, EU Grants and funding programmes and public sector contracts.

This provides trade development opportunities, product/service specific workshops, inward missions, outward trade missions and fairs. The Chamber has a close relationship with the German-British Chamber of Commerce which helps us to provide these services.
