City Growth Portsmouth City Growth is a private-sector led initiative, putting business at the centre of inner city regeneration. It is based on a model developed in the USA that supports the formation and growth of business clusters. These clusters were chosen for having existing strength and potential within a particular city . The emphasis of the strategy is to build on what is currently positive and has potential for future growth. Joint Professions Group Joint Professions Group (JPG) was formed by the Southern Society of Chartered Accountants, part of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and is made up of more than 20 professional bodies whose members are based in the south of England including West Sussex, Surrey, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The primary aim of JPG is to connect professionals by providing opportunities for joint business and social events, training and professional networking. JPG provides a dynamic business networking framework, organising two main events a year attended by around 100 guests on average. Previous successful events have included Southampton Port, where Port Director Doug Morrison gave a very informative talk and members saw the QMII depart, the Spinnaker Tower, the RNLI and most recently, the INTECH Planetarium in Winchester. In addition, we promote other Institutes’ events and courses that may be relevant and useful to members, thus enabling them to benefit from the professional and technical skills training offered by these other bodies. |
